The Pier-2 Art Center is the closest art and cultural district to the harbour in Taiwan. The warehouse in the district, the light rail system that are converted from the Industrial Railway Western Trunk Line and the century-old railway park throughout the district are all unique backgrounds for Pier-2.
No matter in the past or the present, the Pier-2 is the indispensable warehouse group for Kaohsiung people. The prosperous years of storing fish meal and sugar in the past and supplying the river in the harbor have now brought together design and creative energy to enrich every freely imagined soul.
In the past, the Industrial Railway Western Trunk Line, which used to deliver goods at the harbor, has become the most popular waterfront light rail system in Kaohsiung through the park. The Pier-2 warehouse group breaks away from the use of rigidity and connects the world with art and literature.
