In the endless salt field, there are two white pyramids standing side by side, facing the Qigu Salt Mountain. This is the Taiwan Salt Museum. Walk into this fortress of the salt industry and recall the scenery of salt fields with vision; feel the hardships of saltwork with hearing; grasp salt crystals with touch; imagine wet mines with smell; taste the salty taste of coarse salt with taste; experience the whole journey with feeling and cognition the history of the salt industry. In the museum, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Mr. Chen Yonghua introduced and improved the salt-making method from Taiwan and opened up the "Zhou Tsaiwei Salt Field" and the "Takao Salt Field" for Taiwan military and civilian consumption. When the Qing Dynasty, the method of drenching salt and sun-dried salt was still the main method of Taiwanese "salt making" from 1665 to 1928 and the process of salt making during the Japanese era until now. It also introduces in detail the salt from all over the world and can dive into the ground to see the world cultural sites imitating the “Medieval Polish Salt Mine” mine scene. For parents and children, there is a Children’s Learning Center Baby Play Area on the west side of the main building and the indoor play area on the second floor. It is hoped to bring children a new experience of the museum, so that both adults and children can gain new knowledge and strengthen the integration of the five senses.
