The main concept of the museum is elaborate the relations among human, nature and culture with a broad and wide view. It shows the mystery and beauty of nature and allow people to realize the relations between human and nature. It explains environment and cultural adaption, and different cultures due to different environment. It allows people to understand the colorful culture and develop a mindset of respect and admiration towards different cultures. The first phase of the exhibition is combined with Taiwan Science History, Taiwan Prehistory and Taiwan Aboriginal Races. The second phase is added with archaeology of Human Evolutions and Science.
National Museum of Prehistory- Main Site
NMP- Main Site is located in Taitung. In 1980, the Eastern Railways started it’s operation and revealed the Peinan Heritage. To prevent to heritages from damage, the idea of prevention was established.
