National Science and Technology Museum

NSTM was established in 1997, and was the first practical science museum and also the first National social education organization in southern Taiwan. It provides various kinds of exhibitions, science courses and all types of science experiences.

NSTM is the first practical science museum in Taiwan. It has 18 permanent exhibition hall, 5 special exhibition hall, a big screen movie and a library. All exhibition halls have different facilities according to different topics and themes such as earthquake experience room, the ride of Taroko, the walk on the moon, flying experience room, VR jets simulation, and electronic motors for kids. NSTM fulfill its targets of education by allowing people to be a part of all activites.

NSTM not only has all kinds of kid friendly interacting exhibitions in the Fantasy and Magic Land, but also the popular Fun City. Inside of the Fun City is mini roads, pedestrian sidewalk, traffic lights and all kinds of shops and buildings. People have to obey the traffic rules while visiting Fun City. Other than that, Fun City provides electronic cars and motors for kids and building blocks section for them to learn while playing.

For students, NSTM owns different exhibitions which are combined and based on the National Education System. It’s popular among the students with interesting and fun ways of games, war camp, traffic hall and innovative invention laboratory.

Besides permanent exhibitions, it also has library, workshops and all kinds of archives for people to visit.
