The goal of NMTS is to become “Everyone’s Museum”. The building is combined with DuHai (crossing the ocean), KunShen (the landscape of harbor), YunQiang (walls of clouds) and RongHe (Fusion), four big Taiwan related concept.

NMTS is designed with DuHai, KunShen, YunQuang and RongHe, four Taiwan related concept.

DuHai is the water pool in front of the building, with the meaning of people crossing the ocean to Taiwan. KunShen is the water stage, with meaning of the surprises from our ancestors upon seeing Taiwan. YunQiang is the solar power panel, with the meaning of the surrounding clouds and sky and is also a concept of environment preservation. RongHe is presented with the building itself. The administration building uses aboriginals concept. The exhibition educational building uses SiHeYuan from the Chinese culture. Both buildings shows the beauty if cultural fusions and shows the mission of the museum.


Slow walk in the park
The 20ha park allows people to enjoy the nature environment and learn about the cultural knowledge at the same time.

Space and exhibition
“Story Of Taiwan” exhibition tells the story of interactions between different races and environment in Taiwan, showing the different government throughout the history, the culture and life using lively and vivid methods.

The kids’ hall is on the first floor. People can explore and feel the culture using the outdoor landscapes. The indoor exhibition hall allows people to experience different daily lives in the past using costumes, sound and other interaction. The fun and interesting design allows people of all generations to be amazed by the museum.
