The former Japanese dormitory area of Shuijiao Co., Ltd. was once the residence of the officers and soldiers of the Tainan Naval Air Force stationed at Tainan Airport during the Japanese occupation. After the Nationalist Government moved to Taiwan, the Shuijiao Agency was taken over by the Aviation Committee (the predecessor of the Air Force Headquarters today) and became the base of the 443 Wing. The Shuijiao Agency also successively built household houses to provide housing for the soldiers and families of the national army.
In 2004, the Tainan City Government designated a historic site under the name “Shuijiao Co., Ltd. Dormitory Group and Cultural Landscape” as an important base for preserving the cultural assets of Tainan Military Villages. The “ShueiJiaoShe Cultural Park” was established on the original site. The park is planned to have eight themed museums, including the Literature Salon, Military Village Theme Museum, Shuijiaoshe Exhibition Hall, Flying Parent-Child Museum, Art Special Exhibition Hall, Visitor Center, Shuijiao History Museum, AIR Tainan Museum, and opened on December 25, 2019.
